Cocktails, Cocktails, Cocktails This place was packed when we arrived. It was 7.30 and happy hour was in full swing! Seriously it was full to the brim. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits regardless of how many people were there. It’s a young, vibrant and attractive uni crowd with a few non uni people like us there. We did seem to stand out or was it just cause we felt a little old. The guys and girls did look really young.

There are 4 levels to this bar and each level was pretty crowded. The venue is terrace like, so each floor is long and not very wide. The top floor has a nice small outside courtyard. This area was not so packed and I have to say a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the happy hour frenzy on the other floors.

During happy hour it’s a 2 for 1 cocktail deal and the cocktails look spectacular. It's great if your keen for a few cheap cocktails before a big night out. I have to say we were a little unprepared for the excitement of it all. So unfortunately we weren’t keen on queuing up to sample the large colourful concoctions on this night and left with out having a drink. We’ll come back at the beginning of happy our and get in first before the crowds kick in.

Men factor: I wouldn’t come here for the men, not unless you’re after the uni type who don’t have any money and are after cheap cocktails. Is that a bit harsh?...oh well. I felt like a Mrs Robinson and I’m only in my mid 30’s!

Loo’s; surprisingly clean considering the crowd. They are nicely done with mother of pearl type finish on the walls, well lit and large mirrors.

If you don’t fancy a crowded cocktail bar then go later in the evening after the happy hour rush is over. In the quieter times it can be a perfect place for a romantic “cocktails for two” in a cozy corner before heading out to one of Newtowns great restaurants.

Summary:
If your after some fun and excitement and great cheap cocktails then come on down. It’s a great fun, young crowd. Perfect to get a bunch of friends together to have a fun time trying cocktails. If you are not into crowds don’t come down during happy hour, you’ll hate it.
